Yep, you heard it here first – Christopher Kane took his sex-fueled AW18 collection on a day-trip to Peckham and the outcome is a stunning campaign overflowing with subversion, slight perversion and a lot of fabulous fashion. In case you missed it, back in February Mister Kane showed a collection inspired by the 1972 guide to a perfect intercourse written by Alex Comfort and originally illustrated by Chris Foss. The Joy of Sex remains one of the go-to sex manuals, and after Kane’s London Fashion Week show, it probably reached a whole new demographic. The clothes were either decadently skimpy or adorned with the drawings of ecstasy, both subverting the idea of what we consider “sexy”. Now, exactly six months after the show, the brand has released an ad campaign and it’s exactly what we expected. But in a good way. Shot by superstar Alasdair McLellan, American tomboy beauty Selena Forrest models the delightfully glamourous AW18 lewks down in SE15. And somehow, it all looks perfectly in place – lace, plumage, crystals and studs transform those gray streets of South London into a shiny Mayfair ballroom. It’s official – we’re back on the sexy train. Again.
